Step 1: set up the app (three minutes)
Download the Green Clean Laundromat app for iOS or Android. Add your address, then the building notes we'll need every time: doorman or walk-up, buzzer code, where the bag will be. Step 2: choose a window
Pick any one-hour pickup window from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week. The 7–8am window is the one to know about: orders picked up then come back the same evening between 6 and 7pm at no extra charge. Every other window comes back the next day, in a limited 9am–noon delivery window or any window from noon to 7pm.
Step 3: bag it
Any bag works: a laundry bag, a duffel, a tote, a trash bag. We don't sell you a special one. Before you close it:
Empty the pockets. Cash, earbuds, lip balm and receipts do not improve in the wash.
Separate dry cleaning. Suits, silk, wool and anything labeled dry clean only go in their own bag, flagged in the app. They're priced per item and come back pressed in 24–48 hours. Which is which.
Separate hang-dry items. Anything that shouldn't see a dryer goes in a small bag of its own with a note. Air-drying is free.
Note stains. Tell us what and where, and we'll pre-treat.
Step 4: leave it and go
When your window arrives, the bag can be at your door, with your doorman, in the package room, or inside a walk-up's front entrance; whatever your building does for deliveries. You do not need to be home. You'll get a notification when it's collected.
Step 5: what happens at 981 Columbus Ave
Your bag goes to Green Clean's own facility on the Upper West Side, not to a partner laundromat. It's weighed dry (that's the number you're billed on), sorted by color, washed cold unless you asked for warm, dried on the right setting for the fabric, and folded. Dry cleaning is handled separately and returned pressed on hangers within 24–48 hours. One team sees every wash-and-fold order, which is why the folding looks the same every week.
Step 6: it comes back
You'll get a notification when the driver is on the way. The bag is returned the same way it was collected, and you're charged after weighing, before delivery, with a receipt in the app. Same-day for 7–8am pickups; next day for everything else.
